Serge Gauthier, MD, FRCPC, was decorated with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on Sunday, March 17 in Montreal. This commemorative medal, which marks the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's ascension to the throne, is a tangible and lasting way to honour 60,000 Canadians whose accomplishments have benefited their communities and all Canadians.

Serge Gauthier was nominated by the Federation of Quebec Alzheimer Societies and its 20 member Alzheimer Societies. This medal recognizes the time, talent and enthusiasm that Serge Gauthier dedicates to creating a better future for people affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related disease.
