Last May, Accreditation Canada identified as a leading practice the Re-entry into the labor force program developed at the Douglas Institute, a Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre. This program is conducted in partnership with the Centre d'Action, de Développement et de Recherche en Employabilité (C.A.D.R.E.) community agency.

Accreditation Canada has now published it on its website

C.A.D.R.E gives hope to people living with mental illness by assisting them in re-entering the workplace. At the Douglas Institute, they are responsible for emptying all recycling bins every week.

Thanks to their daily work, the Douglas Institute was able, in 2014-2015, to recycle:

  • 156 tons of cardboard/paper
  • 45 tons of compost
  • 2 tons of plastic, glass, metal (PVM)
  • 2 tons of textiles.

Thank you to the participants of C.A.D.R.E. and everyone who participates in recycling.
