The participation rate exceeded the organizers' expectations with close to 600 walkers attending Montreal's first walk for mental health.

The Douglas was present on this beautiful fall day. "It's very exciting that Montreal finally has its very own walk for mental health. Everyone should be able to speak up about mental illness without shame," said Mimi Israël, MD, Chief of the Department of Psychiatry, who attended the 5 km walk yesterday. Jacques Hendlisz, who closed the walk, congratulated the organizers on this first edition: "I hope this is only the beginning," he said.
