•  2012 – Advanced Study Institute – Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry Dr. Laporta was invited to participate as a panelist in this Institute focusing on a discussion of the merits and disadvantages of the Global Mental Health movement.
• 2012-13 – McGill Inuit Mental Health Study Group
  After the first Quebec Inuit Mental Health Retreat held in 2012, where Dr. Laporta was a panelist, a Quebec Inuit Mental Health project developed, which the Montreal WHO-PAHO-CC is involved in with several other consultants. This group continues its work on creating a relationship between McGill and the Inuit of Northern Quebec that is conducive to discussion and collaboration in the area of mental health.
