Depression in young people is considered a disorder when feelings of sadness, emptiness, etc. last for many days and significantly impair life.

Lectures are accredited and are open to psychiatrists, physicians, dentists, pharmacists, residents, students and health partners. They allow participants to talk directly with various professionals and experts in mental health.

The lab team studies the effect of prenatal stress on childhood development and the various risk factors associated with schizophrenia.  

Directed by Alain Brunet, PhD, this research laboratory studies the impact of traumatic events.

The MGSS conducts research on suicide among aboriginal people.

The McGill Group for Suicide Studies (MGSS) is interested in the risk factors associated with suicidal behaviour.

Directed by Michel Perreault, PhD, this research group is conducting a study on obstacles to treatment for individuals with anxiety disorders.  

The lab is interested in the effects of stress on the aging process and in individual differences in stress responsivity.

Natasha Rajah's research team uses brain imaging to examine the neural substrates of learning and memory in healthy young adults.  

The lab is using imaging techniques to identify intermediate phenotypes relevant for psychiatric disorders as target phenotypes for gene discovery.
