After the Douglas Institute, Verdun. The Phoenix Centre, where psycho-educator Luc Gagnon works, exposes the works of its artists until september 19th at the Cultural Centre, much to the pleasure of many enthusiastic visitors.

The arrangement of the artworks truly highlighted the creativity of the artists. Grouped together by themes (birds, Egypt, etc.), the many works are accompanied by photos of the artists and explanatory cards. People’s attention was captivated by sharp line edges, the depth of colour, and the vision behind each artwork – whether self-portraits, animal silhouettes, or caricatures.

The drawing workshop began in January 2012, explains Luc Gagnon, who was responsible for its birth. It responded to our desire to offer our clients an enriching activity. “I have the conviction that everyone can learn how to draw,” he explains.

Maybe not everyone can learn to draw, but the artists from Phoenix, have done so without a doubt.

A great thank you to the Douglas Auxiliary and to the Foundation.
