Many aspects of the physiology present 24-hour rhythms. These circadian rhythms are generated by endogenous clocks, in particular that of the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the hypothalamus.

The lab's research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of circadian rhythms. How is the expression of clock genes modulated? What affects the activity of factors involved in the clock? How does the SCN clock control the various physiological rhythms?

The lab tries to answer these questions by a combination of in vivo (mouse), cell culture and in vitro approaches.
