2012-08-29
On August 25, walkers taking part in the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers stopped by the Douglas. Marking its 8th edition this year, the Weekend is organized to raise funds for the Segal Cancer Centre at the Jewish General Hospital. This year’s walk included a 60-km, 2-day trek around Montreal.
On Saturday, the walkers stopped at the Douglas Institute’s LaSalle Boulevard entrance for some refreshment and rest. Lynne McVey, Douglas Institute's Executive Director and former Co-Director of the Segal Cancer Centre, took the opportunity to cheer on the participants and recognize the event organizers.
The Douglas Institute congratulates all participants who, year after year, help make this event a success.
