The PDD Diagnostic Clinic is designed for children suspected of having a pervasive developmental disorder (PDD) or autism and for children who have already been diagnosed and who need assessment. It is a diagnostic clinic only.
Services provided at the PDD diagnostic clinic
- Identification of the child's clinical profile using specialized tools (conducted by a multidisciplinary team)
- Referral to appropriate resources for subsequent therapy
- Prescription of medication and follow-up in collaboration with the treating physician
Generally, the assessment process only requires a few visits. Additional meetings may be necessary to establish a concrete diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder (PDD).
Parents may receive post-assessment follow-up to discuss the findings, go over any problems, and get answers to questions about diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.
