The boil-water advisory for the Douglas will remain in effect until further notice, even if the City of Montreal decided to lift its advisory during the evening of May 23.

It is important that this advisory be adhered to and that water not be consumed at the Douglas Institute until the Technical Services department issues an authorization to do so.

Why are we maintaining the boil-water advisory for the Douglas even if the City of Montreal lifts its advisory? Because the water supply system below the Douglas Institute is complex and requires that all water distribution points be purged, which could take until the end of the day Friday to be completed. These corrective measures take many hours and will be carried out as quickly as possible.

It is therefore very important that no one drink the water UNTIL A NOTICE IS ISSUED LIFTING THE BOIL WATER ADVISORY.

Water will continue to be distributed to all units tomorrow morning, with priority given to patients.

Once again, to help us manage this situation, you are asked to bring your own water to the Douglas for your personal consumption, if possible.
