2006-05-19
Montreal, May 19, 2006 – Imagine hearing voices in your head, or feeling so paranoid that it is debilitating. These are some of symptoms of schizophrenia, one of the most chronic and disabling mental illnesses.
Schizophrenia will be the topic of the Douglas Hospital’s May 24, screening of Spider, a film about a schizophrenic man who must face his past following a twenty-year institutionalization. This is the fourth in a series of five free movie nights dealing with mental health, called Frames of Mind and organized by the Douglas. Two Douglas experts on the disorder, Ridha Joober MD, PhD and human relations agent with the Assertive Community Treatment Karl Beck, will host the evening.
