Les Impatients and the Douglas Mental Health University Institut unveiled today a special workshop space and boutique with the participation of Barry Crago, Clinical-Administrative Chief at the Douglas and supervisor of the Wellington Centre, Lorraine Palardy, Director General of Les Impatients, Clémence Desrochers, spokeperson for Les Impatients and André Savard, city counsellor and Verdun borough mayor substitute.
A promising agreement
The revitalization of the Wellington Centre is part of the collaborative agreement recently reached between the Douglas and Les Impatients. This agreement will help anyone participating in the activities of both organizations pursue their creative endeavours. “The Wellington Centre of the Douglas Institute has opened its doors to a larger community by welcoming Les Impatients under its roof to promote artistic expression,” stated Barry Crago.
Les Impatients are proud to lend their creative spirit to such a grand institution as the Douglas. “Our association with the Douglas Institute will let us expand our services to the western sector of Montreal,” explained Lorraine Palardy.
Gifts that make a difference
The Wellington Centre has beautiful items for sale! Anyone purchasing Christmas gifts at the Centre will help those suffering from mental illness take another step down the path to becoming an active part of the communities to which they belong. All proceeds from sales at the Wellington Centre boutique will go to help finance the workshops.
