It is important to educate, motivate and train budding scientists and clinicians to pursue research in the neurobiology of healthy and pathological aging. To this aim, the Douglas Centre for Studies on Preventing Alzheimer’s Disease (SToP-AD) has established graduate student and post-doctoral training scholarships.

Graduate Student Training Award

This program is for the short-term support of a Master’s or PhD student currently enrolled in a graduate program at McGill University and whose primary supervisor is a Member or Associate Member of the SToP-AD Centre. The amount of the training award will be equivalent to the annual stipend authorized by the Graduate Program to which the student belongs. Awards are given for one year and renewable up to two years maximum.

Post-Doctoral Training Award

This program is open to PhDs and MDs. It is for the short-term support of a new research or clinical scientist who wishes to pursue a career in geriatric research. The interested individual should contact a Member or Associate Member of the SToP-AD Centre with whom he/she would like to pursue a research collaboration. The amount of the training award will be equivalent to the annual amount awarded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for post-doctoral fellows. Awards are given for one year and renewable up to two years maximum.
