More than a thousand people took part in the fourth edition of Montreal Walks for Mental Health. Along with the Douglas Institute were 9 other organizations, including AMI-Québec and Revivre. Again this year, Honorary President Margaret Trudeau, gave a moving address to the crowd.
"The most important thing is to go and seek help because a lot of problems can be treated" says Camillo Zacchia, senior advisor, Mental Health Education Office. Mimi Israel, Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Douglas Institute, agrees "A lot of people could function well and have a good quality of life if they would seek help".
The goal of the Walk is to raise public awareness about mental health and the stigma that still surrounds mental illness.
