The Institute offers a general medicine program in mental health. General practitioners and psychiatrists collaborate as a part of a shared treatment team. Under the supervision of a site manager, the general medicine team coordinates medical activities related to the physical health of service users.
To better meet the needs the users and the various services, the team also includes:
- An anesthesiologist
- An internist
- A geriatrician
- Two neurologists
The Institute brings together a medical team of over 60 psychiatrists and child psychiatrists who are distributed across services based on the Institution medical staffing plan. The associate chief of the Department of Psychiatry coordinates the activities of the Institute’s psychiatrists, in collaboration with six program managers.

Medical Training
Medical training is organized by the Academic Affairs and Innovation Directorate of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.
At the Institute, a team of approximately 40 psychiatrists is dedicated to welcoming residents.
