The Day Centre offers services to people aged 65 and over who are receiving geriatric psychiatric care at the Douglas Institute. Its aim is to reduce the risk of relapse by developing new skills, supporting psychosocial recovery, and promoting community integration, while improving the quality of life of the people it serves.
Services include:
- Assessments of needs and interests
- Liaison services to ensure continuity of services
- Treatment or service recommendations
- Activities focused on developing daily living skills
The team consists of occupational therapists, recreation specialists, and administrative staff.
