Forensic Psychiatric Assessment Clinic

The clinic provides services for adults aged 18 and over who have been court-ordered to undergo psychiatric assessments related to criminal responsibility and fitness to stand trial due to a mental disorder. The clinic provides medical and professional consultations for violence risk assessments. It also provides consulting support in forensic psychiatry and violence risk management to RUISSS McGill’s mental health teams.

Services are delivered following receipt of:

  • A court order
  • A request for medical or professional consultation

The main assessments offered include:

  • Psychiatric assessment
  • Assessment of dangerousness using standardized measures (HCR20, DUNDRUM and others)

The team consists of forensic psychiatrists, psychoeducators, criminologists, and administrative staff.
