The inpatient unit provides a secure setting for the treatment and rehabilitation of adults aged 18 and over who are under a detention order from the Commission d’examen des troubles mentaux du Québec (CETM) and presenting a moderate risk of dangerousness. It has various facilities, including a classroom used by a teacher from the Lester B. Pearson School Board, a teaching kitchen, a gym, and a cafeteria. The daily clinical programming is based on the 7 pillars of the DUNDRUM model.
Admission to the unit occurs:
- Following a verdict of not criminally responsible or unfit to stand, with a CETM warrant
- By inter-hospital transfer of a person requiring secure supervision (average DUNDRUM-1 score of 2.5)

- Assessments
- Symptom management
- Awareness of the effects of medication and substance use
- Pharmacotherapy
- Individual and group therapy
- Implementation of individualized risk management and relapse prevention plans
The team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoeducators, education specialists, criminologists, social workers, nurses, and patient attendants.
