The unit offers specialized services to adults aged 18 and over with moderate-to-severe intellectual disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, along with psychiatric comorbidity or severe behavioural disorders. Its aim is to stabilize acute mental health disorders and implement appropriate behavioural interventions to promote integration into the community. The team uses an interdisciplinary, person-centered approach for assessments, treatments, and the development of individualized treatment plans.
Services are offered to people referred following a visit to emergency or a transfer from another inpatient unit within the CIUSSS de-l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.

- Pharmacotherapy
- Individual or group psychosocial counselling
- Mental health education
- Treatment completion and discharge planning
The team consists of psychiatrists, psychoeducators, nurses, patient attendants, social workers, and education specialists.
