PEPP-Montréal is a two-year clinical and academic program that provides specialized services to young people aged 14 to 35 experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The program is recognized for integrating research directly into its approach to care. The main goal is to support these young individuals in their recovery by addressing the full spectrum of their needs, as well as those of their loved ones. The program offers specialized treatments tailored to the phase of the illness, with intensive follow-up focused on improving social functioning and family intervention. It also addresses co-occurring disorders (such as substance abuse) and aims to establish a strong therapeutic relationship between the young person, the care team, and their loved ones.
The Clinic for Assessment of Youth at Risk (CAYR) is a sub-service of PEPP-Montréal and is dedicated to young people at high risk of developing psychosis. After a rapid assessment, psychiatric follow-up is provided to track changes in the young person’s functioning and quality of life, while offering personalized support. This support helps identify protective and risk factors. The goal is to prevent worsening of symptoms and improve overall well-being. Since 2006, the program has developed a specific and integrated research agenda.
PEPP-Montréal serves residents within its catchment area, specifically the areas covered by the RLS (Local Health Network) Sud-Ouest-Verdun and RLS Dorval-Lachine-Lasalle.
