Severe Disruptive Behaviour Disorders Day Hospital

The Day Hospital offers specialized services for children aged 6 to 12 with severe externalizing disorders, often associated with mental health problems such as anxiety or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), for a period of one year.

These children experience disruptions in their school and family life. The program also includes support for their family. Its aim is to regulate children’s behaviour and emotions, improve their interpersonal relationships, and develop skills for better day-to-day functioning, easing their transition to a regular school environment.

The clinical team works closely with the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) and the Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Service Centre (CSSMB), as well as with family members and caregivers to ensure personalized support and develop an individualized treatment plan.

Services are offered following a request from:

  • The Youth Mental Health Access Mechanism (MASMJ) team
  • Specialized inpatient or outpatient services, via the child psychiatry liaison mechanisms, in partnership with general practitioners, psychiatrists, and schools.

Services include:

  • Assessments
  • Psychiatric follow-up
  • Pharmacotherapy
  • Group art therapy
